Each month I receive a few different magazines that are deeply valuable to my ongoing learning and discovery about culture and technology. As many of you know, my ongoing pursuit of a paperless existence struggles with this antiquated nature of weighty magazines in my bag. Until I’m able to own the iPad, there must be others ways in which I can view these paper behemoths without the paper.
A couple of years ago I came across Zinio. Zinio is a digital reader for my Mac that allows me not only to view magazines and journals online, but also gives me hyperlinks within the articles and advertisements themselves. This allows a seamless interaction between both the article and the numerous web resources.
Go to Zinio and look for your favorite read. Also, there is an iPhone app that just came online. I haven’t had much of a chance to play with Zinio on my phone yet, but deeply appreciate the ability to have my favorite magazines in my pocket at all times.
Looking forward to seeing how this pans out for the iPad.
I would love to hear your experiences with digital magazine readers.
